Located in Uerikon on Lake Zurich, this modern villa combines timeless architecture with a close relationship to the surrounding landscape. As an example of contemporary residential architecture in Switzerland, the residence is defined by generous, light-filled spaces and a clear architectural approach, creating an atmosphere of openness and tranquillity.
Expansive glazing opens the house towards the garden and allows indoor and outdoor living spaces to flow seamlessly into one another. Cantilevered terraces and precisely positioned building volumes give the architecture an elegant sense of lightness, while warm timber frames and high-quality materials create an inviting living atmosphere. This modern family home on Lake Zurich balances architectural clarity with refined residential comfort.
The design follows the idea of bringing daylight, space and nature into a harmonious dialogue. Openness and privacy are carefully balanced, creating a living experience that feels both generous and sheltered.
Embedded in the landscape of Uerikon, the house achieves its impact not through staging, but through the natural way in which it connects architecture, light and its surroundings. The result is a home that combines timeless elegance, residential comfort and a calm presence on Lake Zurich.
The long corridor is transformed into an atmospheric transitional space through the raw concrete wall and warm lighting, shaping the clear architectural language of the modern design. Recessed floor lights guide the way with restraint, emphasising the depth and refined materiality of the exposed concrete.
At the end of the space, the view opens towards the sculptural staircase, which acts as a spatial anchor and structures the interior. Its geometric balustrade casts a subtly shifting play of light and shadow across the walls, giving the space a distinctive sense of movement.
Timber, concrete and natural stone are in a balanced dialogue, creating a refined material concept that combines warmth and clarity. Precise details, carefully composed proportions and finely coordinated lighting define the timeless atmosphere of the residence and underline the quality of its contemporary interior architecture.
This creates a spatial sequence in which architecture, light and materiality work together in harmony. The result is an interior that radiates calm while maintaining a strong architectural presence — a distinctive example of Swiss villa design and modern residential architecture in Uerikon.
